Paper cup sizes explained: 4oz to 20oz in ml

Paper cups are sold by the fluid ounce, but a menu is planned in millilitres. This guide gives every size we print, from 4oz to 20oz, in ml, with the drinks each one is made for, the walls it comes in and whether it takes a lid. All seven sizes are on our printed paper cups page.

Every size in ml

The ml figure is the cup's capacity as listed on each product page.

Single wall or double wall

A single wall cup is one layer of board. It is slim, and works with a sleeve or for cold drinks. A double wall cup wraps a second layer of board around the outside, which holds the heat without a sleeve. Double wall comes in 6oz, 8oz, 12oz and 16oz; 4oz, 10oz and 20oz are single wall.

Lids

Two lids cover four sizes: one fits both the 6oz and 8oz cups, the other fits both the 12oz and 16oz cups. 4oz, 10oz and 20oz have no lid in the range. You add lids on the product page, in the same quantity as the cups.

Choosing sizes for your menu

Match each size to a drink on your menu using the table above. Every size and wall starts at 1,000 cups, so you can order a different size for each drink without a large minimum. Lead times differ by size:
