How to prepare artwork for printed cups
You do not need a designer to order printed cups. Send us your logo, and our studio sets it up on the cup and sends you a free proof to approve before anything prints. This guide covers the files that print best, how to send them, and what happens between your order and the press. It applies to our printed paper cups, clear cups and greaseproof paper.
Which files we print from
A PDF, AI, EPS or SVG is ideal, because these keep a logo sharp at any size. A large PNG or JPEG usually works too. If you are not sure what you have, send it anyway and we will tell you before anything prints.
How to send your artwork
- On the product page. Add your file when you order, up to 3.5 MB: PDF, AI, EPS, SVG, PNG or JPG. A PNG, JPG or SVG of a paper cup is drawn on a plain cup straight away as a rough preview.
- By email, after you order. A bigger file, or one you do not have yet, can follow by email to hello@erapack.uk.
You can also add design notes when you order: colours, wording, where the logo sits and anything to match. For example: logo front and back, the cup in your brand colour, your website address under the logo.
How the print looks
- Paper cups are printed edge to edge in full colour, with a gloss or matte surface, your choice. A simple logo, a pattern or a full design all work.
- Clear cups are printed in 1 or 2 colours on the clear PET.
- Greaseproof paper is printed in 1, 2 or 4 colours, on white or kraft paper.
The free proof
Every order starts with a proof. We lay your artwork out on the cup and email it to you, and nothing goes on the press until you approve it. Changes are free, as many rounds as you need. Lead time counts from the day you approve the proof, so a quick reply gets your cups sooner.
Templates
If you or your designer want to lay the artwork out yourselves, email us the size and wall and we send the template for that cup. It shows where the print goes and where the cup is cut.
Artwork setup costs
Setting up your artwork and the proof are free on some cup sizes; the others carry a one-time setup per design. The price guide and each product page show which. It is not charged again when you reorder the same design. Clear cups have no setup fee.
Changes after you order, and reorders
Your artwork can change up to the point it goes to press: email us the new file straight away. Once the run has started it cannot be changed. We keep every approved design on file, so for a reorder, just tell us the order number.
